DJARABI KITABS PUBLISHING was founded in 1434 AH or May 2013. Djarabi means Love in Mandinga. We are a small press alhamdullilah.
DJARABI KITABS PUBLISHING’s goal and mission is to promote education, raising young believers & dreamers, love books and books which promote justice, freedom of speech, peace and understanding in the community. We publish books written by Muslims for both a religious and mainstream audience. In this light, we organize a book fair, a book festival and a reader’s choice award annually. Our DKP Book Fest/Ramadan Book Fair mainly highlights the contributions by Muslim artists related to the Blessed Month. Their intent is to raise awareness about Muslim authors and writers’ works along with those who help make it possible; the illustrators, the editors, the readers, the buyers, the publishers, the stockists and many more artists of diverse backgrounds who remain unsung and in the background. Thus, the goal of our festival is also to say thank you to all of these supporters of Muslim writers’ contributions. Fofky’s Reader’s Choice Awards, on the other hand, rewards and praises the works of these aforementioned deserving artists for their contribution to the Muslim Literature Canon.
